Johnson & Johnson Announces $2 Billion Investment in Wilson County

Governor Roy Cooper has announced that Johnson & Johnson will invest over $2 billion in a new pharmaceutical manufacturing campus in Wilson County, North Carolina. This significant investment is expected to create 420 jobs, with positions ranging from analysts and engineers to microbiologists and senior leaders. “We are investing in capacity and new technologies to enhance our industry-leading capabilities and ensure a resilient supply chain for the future,” said Dapo Ajayi, Vice President of Innovative Medicine Supply Chain at Johnson & Johnson. The new facility will focus on the production of innovative biologics, further solidifying North Carolina’s reputation as a hub for biopharmaceutical manufacturing and talent. 

GSK Invests Up to $800 Million in Pennsylvania Site

GSK has announced its largest U.S. manufacturing investment to date this month, committing up to $800 million to expand its Marietta, Pennsylvania site. This investment will bring state-of-the-art drug substance manufacturing and additional drug product manufacturing capabilities to the site, creating over 200 new jobs. “This landmark investment will establish Marietta as an innovation and manufacturing hub capable of delivering next-generation medicines and vaccines to people around the world,” said Regis Simard, President of Global Supply Chain at GSK. The new facilities will include a multi-purpose building for sterile liquid vaccines and medicines, as well as a state-of-the-art R&D pilot plant for clinical trial medicines. This expansion will double the size and capacity of the Marietta site.

Nucleus RadioPharma Opens New Facility in Mesa

Nucleus RadioPharma has opened a new manufacturing facility in Mesa, Arizona, marking a significant investment in the local economy. NorthStar Medical Radioisotopes has unveiled its new Radiopharmaceutical Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) facility in Beloit, Wisconsin. This 52,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility will provide development services and dose manufacturing capacity for key medical radioisotopes. “NorthStar has evolved from a one-product isotope manufacturer to a company prepared to develop, produce, process, and ship a broad range of varied pharmaceuticals from one single vertically integrated campus,” said Frank Scholz, President and CEO of NorthStar Medical Radioisotopes. The facility is designed to support all phases of the pharmaceutical life cycle, from research and development to commercial manufacturing, enhancing NorthStar’s capacity to meet the growing demand for radiopharmaceuticals used in cancer treatment and other serious diseases.

Sunlit Chemical Expands Global Reach with US Facility Grand Opening in Phoenix

Sunlit Chemical Co. Ltd., Taiwan’s leading semiconductor chemical supplier, has expanded its international footprint with the grand opening of its first manufacturing facility outside of Asia, Sunlit Arizona, LLC, in Phoenix, Arizona. This state-of-the-art, 900,000-square-foot plant represents a $100 million investment and will provide critical materials to support the U.S. semiconductor industry. “Opening Sunlit Arizona is a major step forward in our company’s growth and innovation journey,” said Bryan Lin, President of Sunlit Group. The facility, built on 27 acres, is vertically integrated to optimize the production of high-purity hydrofluoric acid and other essential chemicals vital for semiconductor fabrication. The plant’s first phase is expected to create more than 50 local jobs by early 2025, with plans to scale up to 100 employees as production expands.

First Solar Inaugurates $1.1 Billion Alabama Manufacturing Facility

First Solar Inc. has inaugurated its new $1.1 billion solar panel manufacturing facility in Lawrence County, Alabama. This state-of-the-art facility, which spans 3.5 gigawatts of fully vertically integrated nameplate solar manufacturing capacity, is expected to create over 800 new energy technology manufacturing jobs. “This represents a great day for First Solar and for Lawrence County because this production facility is destined to become a major player in the US renewable energy market,” said Governor Kay Ivey. The facility will produce Series 7 modules using Alabama-sourced steel and is part of First Solar’s broader strategy to enhance energy security and reduce dependence on foreign-made solar panels. This new facility, along with First Solar’s three factories in Ohio, brings the company’s domestic manufacturing capacity to nearly 11 gigawatts.

Eco Waste Solutions Opens Manufacturing Facility in Batavia

Eco Waste Solutions has opened a new manufacturing facility in Batavia, New York, dedicated to producing the Expeditionary Solid Waste Disposal Systems (ESWDS) for the United States Army. This 32,500-square-foot facility will create up to 30 jobs and is designed to enhance the company’s production, support, and engineering capabilities. “Today marks an important milestone for our company. The opening of this facility significantly enhances our production, support, and engineering capabilities; an investment that reflects our commitment to building high-quality, innovative, and sustainable products,” said Jean Lucas, President and CEO of Eco Waste Solutions. The ESWDS technology aims to eliminate the need for burn pits, providing a safer waste management solution for military personnel in conflict zones. 

DCL Technology Group Expands Houston Manufacturing to Meet Growing Demand for Clean Energy Technologies

DCL Technology Group has announced the opening of its second manufacturing facility in Houston, Texas, significantly expanding its capacity to produce clean energy and emissions reduction technologies. This new state-of-the-art facility will support the growing demand for hydrogen energy and methane destruction technologies, complementing DCL’s existing emissions reduction, noise, and heat recovery solutions. “Our new Houston facility reflects our commitment to driving decarbonization and creating sustainable energy solutions,” said John Muter, CEO of the DCL Technology Group.

Sierra Pacific Industries has officially opened a new manufacturing facility in Phenix City, Alabama, marking a $60 million investment that will create 300 jobs by 2025. The 610,000-square-foot facility will significantly expand the company’s capacity to produce high-end window and door products. “We’re very excited to be here. Rehrig Pacific Opens State-of-the-Art Manufacturing Facility in Buckeye

Rehrig Pacific has celebrated the grand opening of its new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Buckeye, Arizona. This 264,000-square-foot facility, which sits on a 35-acre site, represents a significant investment and is expected to create around 115 full-time positions. “Choosing Buckeye to build our plant was a great decision, allowing us to become part of a special community and build a lasting partnership with the city,” said Will Rehrig, CEO of Rehrig Pacific. The facility is designed with a focus on sustainability and employee well-being, featuring fully air-conditioned spaces, smart dock controls, 380 KW solar panels, EV charging stations, and a water reclamation system. This new facility underscores Rehrig Pacific’s commitment to innovation and sustainability in the supply chain and environmental waste industries.

Milwaukee Tool Expands Operations with New Facility in Grenada

Milwaukee Tool has announced the opening of its newest and largest manufacturing facility in Grenada County, Mississippi. This state-of-the-art, 500,000-square-foot facility represents an investment of over $60 million and is expected to create more than 800 jobs. The facility will initially manufacture Milwaukee’s renowned line of accessories, including the iconic SAWZALL® Blades, with plans to expand to additional product lines over time. “Our rapid growth continues to accelerate, and this new facility in Grenada plays a crucial role in maintaining our trajectory of excellence in serving our distributor and user partners,” said Scott Griswold, Group President of the Professional Accessories Business Unit at Milwaukee Tool. This expansion underscores Milwaukee Tool’s commitment to the region, where it has invested over $250 million in the past five years and now employs more than 4,000 people in Mississippi.

Johnson Controls Opens New Innovation Center in Glendale

Johnson Controls has inaugurated its new Innovation Center – Warren Johnson Engineering Lab – in Glendale, Wisconsin. This 109,000-square-foot facility, which houses approximately 250 employees, is dedicated to advancing smart building technologies and sustainable solutions. “By providing a dedicated space for experimentation and collaboration, we are equipping our engineering team with the tools and environment they need to create groundbreaking building solutions here in the Milwaukee community,” said George Oliver, Johnson Controls Chairman and CEO. The center focuses on hardware and software engineering, including the OpenBlue suite of digital solutions, Building Automation Systems & Controls, and materials testing.

Global Secure Shipping Opens New Facility in Old Town

Global Secure Shipping (GSS) has officially opened its second manufacturing facility in Old Town, Maine. This new 32,500-square-foot facility will produce state-of-the-art secure cargo containers using patented technology developed at the University of Maine. “This is a great day for our State, for our nation, and for the security of cargo shipping around the world,” said Senator Susan Collins during her remarks at the grand opening. The event also celebrated GSS’s recent $4.1 million contract with the Department of Homeland Security to produce and test the next generation of secure cargo containers.

The Whiskey Project Group, an Australian tactical watercraft manufacturer, has opened a new manufacturing facility in North Carolina, dedicated to producing next-generation tactical watercraft. This 45,000-square-foot facility will enhance the company’s capacity to deliver high-performance watercraft designed for optimal performance and protection in maritime environments. “This new facility represents a significant milestone for The Whiskey Project Group, enabling us to meet the growing demand for our innovative watercraft,” said Darren Schuback, Co-Founder and CEO of The Whiskey Project Group. Ferrero North America has celebrated the opening of its new Kinder Bueno production facility in Bloomington, Illinois. This $214 million investment expands Ferrero’s existing manufacturing campus and is expected to create approximately 200 new jobs. “This new project will help us increase Ferrero’s incredible momentum and innovations here in the US market,” said Michael Lindsey, President and Chief Business Officer of Ferrero North America. The 169,000-square-foot facility will support the production of Kinder Bueno, which has quickly become a favorite among American consumers since its introduction in 2019. 

Mart Frozen Foods Opens $65M High-Tech Facility in Southern Idaho

Mart Frozen Foods, a subsidiary of The Mart Group, has opened a new $65 million high-tech food manufacturing facility in Rupert, Idaho. The 100,000-square-foot plant, located in Southern Idaho’s “Magic Valley,” will produce and package frozen, fully baked Idaho potatoes known as OH!Tatoes. This new facility is expected to create 80 full-time jobs and have an estimated annual economic impact of $11.15 million. “Through innovative technology, OH!Tatoes has perfected the art of freezing fresh Idaho potatoes so consumers can enjoy fluffy, flavorful baked potatoes in minutes,” said Julian Critchfield, president and CEO of The Mart Group. This expansion allows Mart Frozen Foods to vertically integrate and provide high-quality baked Idaho potatoes with a longer shelf life. The new facility is adjacent to The Mart Group’s headquarters, bringing the company’s total employment in Rupert to more than 230 people.

Vendome Copper & Brass Works Expands Manufacturing Capacity with New Facility

Vendome Copper & Brass Works, Inc. has announced the opening of a new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Louisville, Kentucky. This 50,000-square-foot facility, located on Ormsby Avenue, is designed to enhance the company’s tank fabrication capacity, producing large-scale stainless steel vessels such as fermenters, cookers, beer wells, storage tanks, reactors, and ASME code stamped pressure vessels. “This new facility not only allows us to fabricate more tanks simultaneously but also enables us to maintain the highest standards of quality and safety,” said Neil McElroy, Director of Operations at Vendome Copper & Brass Works, Inc.
