Energy

Fluence Expands U.S. Manufacturing with New Arizona Facility

Fluence Energy has begun production at its new Goodyear, Arizona facility, further strengthening its domestic supply chain for grid-scale battery energy storage systems. The site will manufacture enclosures made with U.S. steel and battery management system (BMS) hardware, supporting Fluence’s strategy to onshore production of key components. The company’s broader U.S. manufacturing network spans Arizona, Texas, Tennessee, and Utah, with additional partnerships in South Carolina.

“By rapidly expanding our access to U.S. manufacturing, we’re helping our customers navigate complex global supply chain risks while reinforcing our commitment to delivering safe, reliable, and cybersecure energy storage systems at scale,” said John Zahurancik, President, Fluence Americas. The company’s domestic manufacturing investments total $700 million, creating 1,200 manufacturing jobs and 450 construction jobs in 2025 alone, with further growth expected.

Boviet Solar Begins Production at New North Carolina Facility

Boviet Solar has officially launched production at its new Greenville, North Carolina facility, marking a significant milestone in its U.S. manufacturing expansion. The plant, which will produce high-performance PV modules, has an annual capacity of 2 gigawatts (GW), with a second phase already underway to add another 2 GW of solar cell manufacturing.

“This is a proud moment for all of us at Boviet Solar,” said Scott Chen, VP of Global Sales and Marketing at Boviet Solar. “Producing our first PV modules on U.S. soil reflects our continued dedication to delivering high-quality, reliable solar solutions while contributing to the growth of American clean energy manufacturing.” The facility supports residential, commercial, industrial, and utility-scale solar projects across North America, reinforcing Boviet Solar’s commitment to sustainability and technological innovation.

Apex Power Conversion Opens U.S. Headquarters in Mesa

Apex Power Conversion has officially opened its 206,000-square-foot U.S. headquarters and manufacturing facility in Mesa, Arizona, marking a $60 million investment in renewable energy technology. The company will initially employ 300 workers, with plans to expand to 700 employees by 2029. The facility will manufacture advanced multi-megawatt power conversion systems designed to integrate renewables and energy storage with the grid, with production set to begin in Q1 2026.

Raptor Power Systems Expands Manufacturing in Champaign, Illinois

Raptor Power Systems has opened a new 65,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Champaign, Illinois, strengthening its production of Power Distribution Units (PDUs) and Breaker Panels. The expansion enhances efficiency and customization, supporting industries such as data centers, military applications, and large-scale industrial operations.

“This facility is more than just an expansion; it's a testament to our commitment to staying ahead in an evolving industry,” said Evan El Koury, President of Raptor Power Systems. The new site complements the company’s existing operations in Eatontown, New Jersey, reinforcing its position as a leader in power distribution technology.

VanTran Expands U.S. Transformer Production with New Waco Facility

VanTran Transformers and MGM Transformers have opened a 430,000-square-foot advanced manufacturing facility in Waco, Texas, unlocking $1 billion in annual production capacity for custom liquid-filled transformers. The expansion will create 700 high-quality jobs over the next five years, supporting data centers, renewable energy, EV charging infrastructure, and utilities.

“With this facility, we’re not just growing—we’re redefining the scale of American manufacturing. We’re proud to create jobs, reduce lead times, and deliver mission-critical infrastructure—made in America, for America,” said Doug Banty, CEO of MGM Transformers. Ty Gayeski, President of VanTran Transformers, added, “VanTran has been part of the Waco community for over 60 years, and this expansion is about scaling our impact. We’re investing in the future of American industry, right here in Central Texas.” The facility strengthens domestic energy infrastructure and enhances U.S. manufacturing resilience.

Elopak Opens First U.S. Carton Plant in Little Rock

Global packaging company Elopak has officially opened its first U.S. carton converting plant in Little Rock, Arkansas. The state-of-the-art facility represents a $100 million investment and will produce Pure-Pak® cartons for liquid dairy products, juices, plant-based drinks, and liquid eggs. The factory, located at the Port of Little Rock, will employ 100 workers and features fully automated carton folding, scoring, packing, and loading processes.

“Demand for our low-carbon, sustainable cartons in North America has been growing at an unprecedented rate for several years. This new factory will serve both new and existing customers across the United States, reaching millions of Americans every day,” said Elopak CEO Thomas Körmendi. The facility is a key part of Elopak’s ‘Repackaging tomorrow’ strategy, which aims to double revenues by 2030.

Food Processing

Mars Expands U.S. Investment with New Royal Canin Facility in Ohio

Mars, Incorporated has opened its largest dry pet food factory globally in Lewisburg, Ohio, marking a $450 million investment in U.S. manufacturing. The 450,000-square-foot facility will produce Royal Canin’s regional dry kibble portfolio, with the capacity to feed 4 million cats and dogs annually. Over the next five years, the site is expected to create up to 270 full-time jobs.

“Our latest investment in Ohio is an important milestone in Mars’ ongoing commitment to U.S.-based manufacturing,” said Poul Weihrauch, CEO of Mars, Incorporated. “Over the last five years, we invested over $6 billion in the U.S., and we plan to continue to grow our ability to supply the domestic market.” The facility has also earned Silver LEED certification, reflecting Mars’ commitment to sustainability.

Archer Expands Production with Second Los Angeles Facility

 Archer, one of the fastest-growing meat snack brands in the U.S., is opening a second manufacturing facility in Vernon, California, to meet surging demand for its meat stick products. The 140,000-square-foot facility, previously operated by Farmer John, will focus exclusively on meat stick production and is expected to be fully operational by September 2025. The expansion will create more than 200 new jobs, nearly doubling Archer’s overall manufacturing capacity.

“The explosive growth of our meat stick products made increasing our production capabilities essential, and doing this in Los Angeles was an intentional choice,” said Eugene Kang, founder and CEO of Archer. “Our founding principle has always been that supply chain ownership is crucial for maximizing margins and ensuring quality control, as evidenced by our jerky business. This expansion represents our next strategic step to vertically integrate our fastest-growing product line.” The Vernon facility will complement Archer’s existing San Bernardino plant, which will continue producing both jerky and meat sticks.

California Dairies Opens New Manufacturing Plant in Bakersfield

California Dairies, Inc. (CDI) has officially opened its 200,000-square-foot Valley Natural Beverages facility in Bakersfield, California, marking a major expansion in its shelf-stable milk production. The vertically integrated plant will process 116,000 gallons of local milk daily, with plans to expand to 400,000 square feet and 600,000 gallons per day in future phases. The facility will initially operate three processing lines, producing extended shelf life (ESL) and ultra-high temperature (UHT) dairy beverages, with a long-term goal of 10-12 production lines.

“We are thrilled to officially open this cutting-edge facility,” said Brad Anderson, President and CEO of CDI. “This investment underscores our commitment to innovation and sustainability. The new plant will allow us to increase production capacity, expand our product offerings, improve efficiency, and create next-generation jobs for the local community.” The facility incorporates advanced robotics, energy-efficient technologies, and renewable energy sources, reinforcing CDI’s commitment to sustainability and innovation.

Chobani Invests $1.2 Billion in New York for Third U.S. Dairy Plant

Chobani has broken ground on a $1.2 billion dairy processing facility in Rome, New York, marking its largest investment in U.S. manufacturing to date. The 1.4 million-square-foot plant, located at the Griffiss Business & Technology Park, will create over 1,000 full-time jobs and support local dairy farmers while expanding production capacity for Chobani’s growing portfolio of natural food products.

“New York is where Chobani’s journey began. It was the perfect spot to start Chobani 20 years ago, and it’s the perfect place to continue our story,” said Hamdi Ulukaya, Founder and CEO of Chobani. “With our new plant in Rome and our original home in South Edmeston, we’re entering a new dimension, partnering with hardworking people across the heartland of New York to build an ecosystem of natural food production and nourish families throughout the country.” The facility is expected to process over 12 million pounds of milk per day at full capacity, reinforcing Chobani’s commitment to sustainable and locally sourced dairy production.

Kettle & Fire Opens KettleWorks Manufacturing Facility in Pennsylvania

Kettle & Fire has launched KettleWorks, its first company-owned manufacturing facility in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, marking a major step in its expansion. The 167,000-square-foot facility is designed to enhance efficiency and quality control in the production of bone broths, cooking broths, and soups, ensuring consistency and transparency in its supply chain.

“Opening KettleWorks marks a significant milestone in our company’s history,” said Brian Hack, CEO of Kettle & Fire. “Self-manufacturing is one of the most important steps an emerging brand can take to ensure consistent service for its customers and improve its ability to partner with retailers, distributors, and other partners.” The facility is expected to create 149 new jobs and contribute $19.1 million to the local economy.

AstraZeneca Opens $300 Million Cell Therapy Facility in Montgomery County

AstraZeneca has officially opened its $300 million advanced manufacturing facility in Rockville, Maryland, dedicated to producing CAR-T cell therapies—personalized treatments designed to re-engineer a patient’s immune cells to fight cancer. The 84,000-square-foot facility will support clinical trials and future commercial production, reinforcing Montgomery County’s position as a leading bio-life sciences hub. The project is part of AstraZeneca’s $3.5 billion national investment in research and manufacturing and is expected to create more than 150 skilled jobs.

“This facility represents exactly the kind of investment we want to support,” said Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich. “It will save lives, create high-quality jobs, and strengthen Montgomery County’s place as one of the nation’s top bio-life sciences hubs. We’re proud to have helped make it happen.” AstraZeneca already employs more than 4,500 workers in Montgomery County across multiple sites, including its 1.3 million-square-foot Gaithersburg campus.

Roche Expands Indianapolis Diagnostics Manufacturing Hub with $550 Million Investment

Roche has announced a $550 million expansion of its Indianapolis diagnostics manufacturing hub, reinforcing its commitment to U.S.-based production. The facility will become a major center for continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) system manufacturing, supporting diabetes management solutions for millions of Americans. The project is expected to generate hundreds of highly skilled manufacturing jobs and thousands of construction jobs by 2030.

“The challenges of diabetes are pervasive, with millions of Americans living with the constant vigilance and countless daily decisions the disease requires,” said Brad Moore, President and CEO of Roche Diagnostics North America. “By expanding our manufacturing capabilities in Indianapolis, we ensure reliable access to innovative monitoring solutions for individuals living with diabetes in the U.S. and worldwide.” The Indianapolis site already serves as Roche’s North American headquarters, housing research and development, laboratories, manufacturing, distribution, IT, and administrative functions.

Fabrication

United Alloy Expands Manufacturing Facility in Dayton Region

United Alloy has announced an additional expansion of its Union, Ohio manufacturing facility, increasing its footprint to 532,000 square feet with a $48 million investment. The facility, which produces data center fuel tanks and engine room exhaust plenums, will create 250 new jobs, bringing the total workforce to over 400 employees once fully staffed.

“We’ve been impressed with the Dayton area and its skilled workforce,” said Vanessa Dubick, CEO of United Alloy. “With the demands we’re seeing in the data center industry, we need more space and talented staff—Dayton was the obvious place to expand.” The company, a second-generation, family-owned business, specializes in metal fabrication, welding, and powder coating, serving power-generation customers domestically and internationally. A grand opening ceremony is scheduled for June 10, followed by a job fair at the facility.
