According to MNI, compiler and publisher of the industrial data that powers IndustrySelect, there are currently 989 industrial pump and pumping equipment manufacturers operating in the United States today. With a reported combined average sales of $28 billion, these powerful companies employ 45,501 workers in 2024—a nearly one percent increase over 2023.
The majority of these companies are located in the South, with 40% residing in this region. Another 28% are based in the Midwest, with a near-even split of the remainder in the Northeast and West, with 15% and 17% respectively.
Pump and pumping equipment manufacturers are major exporters, with 50% distributing their products internationally—running ahead of the average 29% of all manufacturers. A larger percentage also import raw materials at 21%, compared to 11% for all U.S. manufacturers.

1. Curtiss-Wright Flow Control Co. (Cheswick, PA)
