Looking to do business with U.S. metal stamping companies? Yesterday, we took a closer look at the industry, providing some useful facts for B2B marketing and sales executives when it comes to working with the metal stamping industry. You can read about that here.
Today we're taking a look at some of the largest and fastest-growing companies to give you a complete picture of where the industry stands today.
First we'll get a feel for the latest market trends in the industry.
The metal-stamping industry is responsible for many of the unseen parts that hold everyday appliances and machines together.
It represents an important supply source for economically powerful industries such as automotive, aerospace, medicine and agriculture.
With $25.4 billion in annual sales, metal stamping is a quiet giant of manufacturing. But, it hasn't all been smooth sailing for the industry.
In 2018, the U.S. imposed a 25% tariff on steel that sent companies into a panic as new supply chains and raw material suppliers were interrupted.
After some instability, however, U.S. steel mill capacity use is at its highest in more than a decade, according to the American Iron and Steel Institute.
In 2019, the number of employees in the stamping industry is up more than 6% from the previous year, indicating that a healthier steel industry has had a trickle-down effect.
It appears that stamping will benefit in the coming months from a combination of reshoring production and locally purchased raw materials.
